My New Favorite Girl - Dena

I admit it. This is now my new favorite doll. Could it be because she is also my first successful repaint? No I didn't know what I was doing or why I chose to jump in on a doll that I didn't have nor would be able to find a replacement for. I guess I'm just crazy like that! Anyway I love her. Other than an extreme case of hair breakage...she's perfect. She shaped similar to me but as far as proportions goes, I'm taller, my arms aren't as long, neck isn't as thick and calves not as big. Maybe we don't have a similar build. Let's just say I'm closer to her proportions than I am to a Barbie doll. She's got curves and is not built like a teenage boy!

I plan on her wardrobe being as impressive as mine. Now I just need to learn to make doll wigs or how to install a doll weave! LOL. We had quite the photo session

  1. Ahh yes, you too have fallen under the spell of the BBD! You did a really nice job on her facial repaint and she has the beginnings of a very impressive wardrobe! I love my Dasia too. She is just full of sass and thanks to Vanessa Morrison, she now has a very impressive wardrobe too. I have seen others wig these dolls, so I am sure you will be able to find something for her. I don't know how easy she would be to reroot, because you would have to remove her head to do it and I haven't attempted to do that. There is a Facebook page for these ladies so that would be a good place to get advice on the hair.

  2. Great job on the repaint! I can see why she's your favorite, she really is beautiful. Her male companion seems to be in love very much :-)!

  3. I like this new doll. She looks like a lot of fun. And yes, I too, am sure I've known someone who looks pretty similar to her as well. I like the dress you made for her and the headband totally works!

  4. Hi, the repaint is really good, I could never try a repaint on a new loved doll, corageous girl!
I love this doll, if she was articulated I would buy one too, sewing for a voluptuous lady!

  5. Your repaint is really good. I want to try it. My first attempt was a flop. Yours is great.

The Fashion Doll Stylist did a blog on weaves. You could try looking at her post for tips. They are pretty good.
